This is what it's all about :-))

These smiles are our reward!

Paddington's Hospital Radio is a registered charity and a service provided by volunteers.  We are grateful to the hospitals and particularly to the Friends of St. Mary's the League of Friends of St. Charles' and Princess Louise (Kensington) Hospitals, and the Rag Week Committee of Imperial College School of Medicine for their financial support which helps us buy records and keep our broadcasts going.

In 2002 medical students from Imperial College School of Medicine held their most successful Rag Week ever and raising over £55,000 for the charities they chose to support (including us at Paddington's Hospital Radio!!).  We used a large chunk of the money they gave us to buy a computer network from P Squared allowing us to transfer up to 20,000 pieces of music to computer and bring our studio facility in line with professional radio stations who all use computers to store and play audio.  Thanks ICSM!

As one patient said about us
"they do a brilliant job and really bring a smile to your face when they play your requests."

The staff often get involved too - advising us of patients who could do with a little extra boost, or of those who are too ill to be disturbed. A lot of our requests are for "thank you" records to the doctors and nurses in the hospitals ... it's just a shame they are often too busy to appreciate the number of records we actually play for them!

smiling nurses too!
